Description
The Break Free Run to End Human Trafficking is an integral part of the organizations fundraising efforts. Proceeds from Break Free Run events go toward funding anti-trafficking programs to further the organizations vision of a world free from human trafficking. Break Free Run also believes knowledge is power and welcomes every opportunity to provide Break Free Education to our youth and surrounding communities so that they, too, can understand and recognize human trafficking.
History
Break Free Run was founded after a 17-year-old girl was taken from a sleepy suburb in Northern California and trafficked for eight days before she was found and rescued by the FBI. Together the mother of the teen, Vicki Zito, along with Ashlie Bryant, Stephanie Loos and Amy Johnson, founded Break Free Run. In 2014, Break Free Run merged with 3Strands Global, Inc. to combat human trafficking through sustainable employment, education and engagement initiatives.
